Lillar Burton, MA

The only impossible journey

is the one you never begin.

- Tony Robbins

Lillar finds peace in walking side by side with her clients, teaching them the new coping tools they will need for their transformational journey. She has a passion for adolescents and young adults and believes life becomes a gift when we are able to recognize and accept our true self, and facilitates this process by helping clients understand how their past has shaped them to be the beautiful and unique

individuals they are.

One quote that she lives by and utilizes in her practice with clients is “When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at will start to change.” This involves identifying and connecting life experiences that will ultimately lead to greater self-awareness and appreciation and help create a new view of life that will foster positive life choices and continual growth. Having overcome many obstacles in life, Lillar has learned to enjoy her present and look

forward to her future.

Lillar's clinical specialties include working with adults, adolescents and children who are experiencing depression, have a history of trauma, anxiety, and other mood disorders, as well as women's issues and phase of life problems. Although primarily operating from a psychodynamic lens, she finds great success in an integrative approach, tailoring techniques that best fit her client’s needs, and blending elements that lend in helping clients reach their full potential.  Other approaches she tends to pull from are client-centered and strengths-based approaches in her attempt to guide clients on their path of discovery and change. Finally, she recognizes the value of the therapeutic relationship and seeks to provide a safe, empathetic and authentic healing environment.
