The need to prove who you are will
vanish once you know who you are.
- Danielle Pierre
Danielle Portis, LPC, NCC passionately takes clients on a journey of self-discovery where they are able to acknowledge where they are, identify where they desire to be and work diligently as a team to minimize barriers and bridge the gaps. Having overcome life-altering obstacles of her own, Danielle has dedicated her life to equipping others with the tools to do the same.
Knowing that no two individuals experience life in the same manner, Danielle has an innate ability to assess needs and empathically identify person-centered solutions that cater to the internal struggle and environmental effect on every person. She utilizes a CBT-DBT blend of techniques such as identifying cognitive distortions, journaling, cognitive restructuring and mindfulness as well as increasing interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Danielle works to foster resilience by aiding clients in revisiting what they’ve survived, being mindful of the here and now while preparing them to thrive.
With her background in behavioral and social science, Danielle has applied knowledge from both ends of the spectrum to develop programs that have been implemented in small businesses and nonprofit organizations. This has been accomplished through youth mentoring initiatives, economic & business development programming along with women’s supportive empowerment groups as well. Danielle targets opportunities to highlight power in women, promote sisterhood and to provide platforms that help people achieve and maintain mental wellness.
Danielle prides herself as an avid reader, hip-hop connoisseur, and nature enthusiast devoted to the achievement of others, against all odds. Danielle is currently accepting new clients in the South Loop office location.
